Cytek Biosciences is seeking a motivated Intern, Applications and Reagent to join the Applications and Reagents team. This internship provides hands-on experience in evaluating new reagents, developing assay panels, and supporting application testing for flow cytometry technologies.
The successful candidate will work closely with scientists to perform laboratory experiments, analyze experimental data, and contribute to reagent and assay development. The intern should be able to execute experiments independently following established protocols while maintaining strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
The scope and level of responsibilities may be adjusted based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform flow cytometry experiments using biological samples following established protocols and work instructions.
- Evaluate newly developed dye-antibody conjugates and immune cell markers.
- Conduct reagent, assay panel, and instrument testing in accordance with SOPs and experimental procedures.
- Perform data analysis and interpretation and summarize results for internal review.
- Design and perform troubleshooting experiments when needed.
- Present experimental findings during team or group meetings.
- Conduct testing and evaluation of fluorescent antibody conjugates, including data analysis and documentation.
- Assist with the development and documentation of study protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support laboratory management activities, including reagent preparation, organization, and general lab operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor's or Master's program at an accredited U.S. university OR graduating in Spring 2026 in life sciences or a related field.
- Ability to complete an 8-10 weeks internship between June and August.
- Must be able to work on site for the duration of the internship.
Experience and Skills
- 0-2 years of laboratory experience through academic coursework, laboratory training, or internships.
- Basic laboratory experience such as handling biological samples, cell culture, or operation of common laboratory equipment.
- Exposure to flow cytometry, immune cell phenotyping, or cell-based assays is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with regulated environments (GLP/GMP) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced research environment while maintaining high-quality work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds safely.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to one hour at a time) while performing laboratory work.
- Must be able to work at laboratory benches and access materials stored on shelves.
