Salary Range $77,000 - $85,000 Position Overview: As the Operations Manager, you will oversee operational activities at assigned station. To include hiring and training employees and managing quality assurance programs, strategizing process improvements to ensure everyone completes their task on schedule. Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Manage all aspects of the daily operations as well as provide leadership and coaching to increase overall safety, performance, maintenance, flight operations, facility requirements and customer service;
- Assist the General Manager/Station Manager with station audits, provide information needed for airline reports, and handle all airline and FAA questions/concerns as required;
- Develop and expand working relationships and communications with Airport Authority and existing customer base;
- Communicate regularly on airline manual updates to provide information to employees and coordinate with the General Manager on investigations of any security issues, accident reviews and be a part of the review and recommendation process for safety measures taken to prevent further occurrences;
- Ensure that all customer safety standards are met while maintaining a safe working environment for all base staff;
- Lead the operation to organize the base in a manner free of hazardous situations;
- Monitor maintenance on all material handling equipment and provide safety training for all base employees;
- Recruit, hire, schedule and train all new employees;
- Promote employees to new duties and responsibilities;
- Ensure the base is open for the contracted hours and make certain that the assigned staff reports on time;
- Alert customers of new regulations, flight schedules, weight restrictions, and flight delays;
- Inform customers of billing, suggest preferred routings, and assist with loading/unloading mail or cargo;
- Ensure that all flights that we load and/or unload operate on time, safely and efficiently;
- Assist Manager with preparing budgets, create invoicing, and manage payroll; with respective corporate position(s)
- Provide and maintain outstanding customer service while enforcing safety rules in the workplace and proper equipment use by all levels of employees;
- Administer personnel documents, manage employee issues, and submit all required documents to the
- Corporate Office for maintenance of employment files;
- Enforce IDS, airport authority, airline, and other regulatory offices policies and or procedures;
- Performs other duties assigned by QAS management.
Required Skills and Experience:
- BA/BS in related field of study required;
- Equivalent combination of education and personal experience considered;
- Successful completion of required background and clearance requirements;
- Must have 5 years manager experience handling large ramp operations and demonstrated ability to manage budgets;
- AOSSP/MSP, FAA/TSA, dangerous goods, Air carrier Hazmat, SIDA, and Equipment Certification;
- A broad range of airline operational experience including but not limited to customer service, operations, maintenance, flight operations, facility requirements, airport management and
- safety/regulatory requirements;
- Knowledge of regulatory and airline policies, warehouse procedures, operating station equipment, and aircraft handling procedures;
- Excellent time management;
- Basic understanding of accounting management principles;
- Knowledge of converting kilos and pounds, tariff book usage and rate application;
- Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).

- The Operations Manager will lead and supervise a team of other professionals that may include some or all of the following: Administrative Assistant, Airside Supervisor(s), Cargo Agent(s); Equipment
- Operator(s); Glycol Plant Specialist(s); Labourer(s); Lead(s); Maintenance Technician(s) Material
- Handler(s); Mechanic(s); Operations Supervisor(s); Quality Assurance and Control Technician; Quality
- Control; Ramp Agent(s); Safety and Training; Site Supervisor; and Truck Driver(s).
Work Environment:
- Office environment with the potential of remaining seated for extended periods of time;
- Continuous use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse;
- Warehouse - physically strenuous, prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to noise (may be excessive at times), safe but potentially unpleasant odors, varying temperatures and humidity, in and around heavy moving equipment;
- Outdoor - prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to prevalent weather, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes and noise, in or around heavy equipment and moving vehicles;
- May be exposed to hazards inherent in airport operations, including noise, vehicles, equipment, and weather, all of which are well-managed with a high level of training, personal protective equipment, and safety procedures.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, speak and hear efficiently;
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling;
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week.
Travel:
- No travel is anticipated in this position.
Security Clearance:
- Ability to obtain and maintain all security clearances required by Transport Canada or TSA and/or Local and Federal Regulatory Airport Authorities;
- Authorities. Ability to pass pre-employment background screenings.
