RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Chief Radiologic Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Chief Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for supervising radiologic technologists in multiple modalities and/or across multiple centers, assuring professional standards and excellent customer service. This role operates scanner to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. The Chief Radiologic Technologist remains self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve, and maintains positive work relationships with radiologists.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(80%) Patient Imaging



  • Screen each patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
  • Explain and prepare patients for scanning imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
  • Perform routine and advanced scanning imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to the patient throughout procedure
  • Adjust scanning parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
  • Maintain a positive attitude, and working relationships, with radiologist, referring customers and other team members and peers
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers
  • Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
  • Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
  • Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
  • Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines


(15%) Team Management



  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and abilities, remaining approachable and objective
  • Manage all hiring and retention processes, responsible for initial and ongoing training of new & existing team members
  • Initiate and participate in team member performance evaluations, compensation, and development, and conduct performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and/or up to termination if necessary
  • Facilitate and lead regular team meetings and team member one-on-one (1:1) meeting's with each direct report team member and ensure your direct report leaders are doing the same.
  • Mentor and support team members, encouraging a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning and improvement
  • Manage team member schedules to provide for planned time off, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and adequate coverage
  • Evaluates workflow and implements process improvements for the team
  • Ensures team has knowledge of company and department policies and corresponding procedures are in place
  • Support team members to ensure that the highest level of patient satisfaction is consistently achieved
  • Develop and implement methods for measuring and monitoring team and department performance


(5%) Other Duties and Projects as Assigned

Required:



  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
  • Five (5) years' imaging experience, with demonstrated ability to serve as a resource to others and identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Experience leading and/or mentoring others
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform advanced scanning procedures independently with highest quality
  • Certification in imaging specialty (if applicable)


Preferred:



  • One (1) year of supervising a team of direct reports
  • Works in multiple modalities and/or has multi-modality certifications
  • Bilingual
