JOB ANNOUNCEMENT SUPERVISOR OF LAND ACQUISITION AND DISPOSITION DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT Bureau of Citywide Planning Number of Positions: 1 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $83,052 Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT on 03/25/2026 Under general direction, leads, supervises, oversees, and coordinates the work of Land Acquisition/Disposition Officers engaged in the acquisition and/or disposition of City-owned property, and performs other duties as required. Additional duties may be required for this position. Location: City Hall 10th FL Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Seven (7) years of working experience in the sale, development, and disposition of real estate, OR * Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Architecture or related degree, PLUS five (5) years of work experience in the sale, development, and disposition of real estate, OR * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Architecture or related degree, PLUS three (3) years of work experience in the sale, development, and disposition of real estate, OR * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree or higher in Business Administration, Public Administration, Architecture or related degree, PLUS two (2) years of work experience in the sale, development and disposition of real estate. NOTE: SELECTION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral parts of the interview will be selected. Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following: * Previous Supervisory work experience related to the job duties. * Previous work experience with the City of Chicago procurement process. * Previous work Experience with Real Estate Records/Websites (reading/understanding tax plats, deeds, ownership chains, zoning, land use, etc). * Previous work Experience making public presentations to groups and organizations. * Work experience with Real Estate transactions including closings.
