The primary objective of this position is to support, develop, and implement training programs that uphold high standards of employee performance in technical proficiency, environmental awareness, safety, productivity, customer focus, and ethical behavior. This role is crucial to the Companys success by ensuring a motivated and well-trained workforce that meets the needs of customers and stakeholders. As a Senior Instructor, you will oversee, coordinate, and schedule the training of employees and contractors, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills for their roles. You will contribute to the development of training curricula and materials, including instructor guides, student guides, tests, training media, and Digital Learning courses. Additionally, you will lead the development and review of Digital Learning tools. Senior Instructors are expected to mentor new instructors, aiding in their professional development. You will also be responsible for evaluating trainee performance for qualifications and assessing training procedures and equipment in relation to training and technology. Furthermore, you will lead Training Effectiveness Committees (TECs) for assigned disciplines and serve as a trusted advisor to our business partners.
Core Responsibilities
- Ensure all assigned courses have current learning objectives, course outlines, instructor guides, student manuals, training aids, tests, media and centralized document control.
- Coordinate with field personnel to ensure alignment of training with operations, including active participation in Training Effectiveness Committees (TECs) and field visits, including taking the lead in special projects, and a defined role in TECs such as co-chair or scribe.
- Update and maintain eTrain and Learning Management System (LMS) records. Produce and utilize reports from TLC portal.
- Evaluate student performance of those being trained, or tested for a position, title change, or advancement in title. Ensure that test results are fairly and accurately scored utilizing manual processes and following corporate procedures. Ensure confidentiality of test results and recommendations.
- Support team to maintain inventory of the materials required to conduct training.
- Lead in the development of Digital Learning Tools (for example eBook, eLearning, Micro Learning, videos, VR and AR).
- Stay informed of operating incidents and accidents, issues, procedures, lessons learned, etc. Communicate these to the training staff and students, where applicable.
- Maintain housekeeping responsibility for assigned rooms and areas and ensure compliance requirements are met, as assigned (e.g., fire extinguisher inspections, TLCs Hazardous Energy Control Procedure, etc.).
- Develop the ability to and routinely conduct effective training in multiple technical disciplines. Look to qualify in three Electric Curriculums within the first 12 months.
- Support line organizations in emergency and contingency situations. Maintain necessary certificates/licenses and training for field work. Obtain required certificates to conduct assigned training within first six months.
- Participate in cross-functional teams and industry groups to stay current on changes in training, technical discipline, regulatory requirements, etc.
Required Education/Experience
- High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant work experience in Electric Operations.
- Experience in Underground Distribution primary joint construction; Feeder processing; Switching, URD, Rule Book, Control Center Operations. Experience in 120/208 secondary system; Ladder Line; M&S plate reading, or
- Associate's Degree and 4 years of relevant work experience in Electric Operations.

Relevant Work Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity, required.
- Experience in leading a Team and Group meetings in an organization, required.
- Demonstrate knowledge in higher skills and Leadership competencies, required.
- Demonstrated professional demeanor, confidence dealing with all levels of management/union personnel and the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information, required.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, required.
- Strong organizational, administrative, Strong presentation and facilitation skills, required.
- Demonstrate high energy level, flexibility and the ability handle multiple tasks and assignments while working under tight deadlines, required.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and have the ability to deal with all levels of management, Regulatory Agencies, union personnel and customers, required.
- Multiple, additional core abilities/responsibilities outside of applied position (ex. Extensive experience/knowledge in multiple work areas/fields), preferred.
- Experience with Train and TLC Portal, preferred.

Physical Demands
- Ability to respond to system emergencies
- Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
- Perform heavy manual labor, i.e. push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to carry tools and materials when climbing ladders and scaffolds, and entering confined spaces
- Ability to work in adverse conditions that include, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs
- Perform work in underground vaults through manholes
- Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)
- Ability to work with, and in, the vicinity of high voltage and/or other high-energy systems
- Ability to climb in and out of manholes and excavations
- Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday
- Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday
- Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
- Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
- Work with equipment with a manufacturer weight rating of 350lbs
Additional Physical Demands
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
