Model-Based Systems Engineer

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support our Huntsville, AL location.

PeopleTec is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support advanced defense technology development efforts on-site in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering, including SysML modeling and digital engineering practices.

This role supports cutting-edge programs focused on emerging defense technologies and rapid capability development. The selected candidate will contribute to multidisciplinary teams working in agile research, science, and technology (S&T) environments, helping to design, model, and analyze complex systems for next-generation defense solutions.

Candidates with experience in rapid prototyping environments, advanced weapon systems, or emerging technology areas such as directed energy, advanced command and control, tracking systems, AI/ML, or hypersonics are highly desirable.

Duties:

Develop and maintain Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) artifacts using SysML and modern MBSE tools
• Support system architecture development, requirements analysis, and system decomposition within a model-based environment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate models across system domains
• Contribute to digital engineering initiatives, including integration of MBSE models with modeling & simulation tools
• Support system design reviews, technical documentation, and engineering analyses
• Work in agile and rapid development environments focused on emerging technologies and prototype capabilities
• Assist program teams with architecture definition, system trade studies, and technical decision-making

Required Skills/Experience:

• 10+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering or a related engineering discipline
• 3+ years of experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Experience developing models using Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
• Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
• Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs and processes
• Experience working in agile or science & technology (S&T) development environments
• Strong analytical, technical documentation, and communication skills
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline required
• Master's degree preferred

Desired Skills:

• 5+ years of MBSE experience using SysML and MBSE tools
• Experience supporting rapid prototyping or rapid capability development organizations
• Familiarity with emerging technologies such as:
• Experience supporting Digital Engineering initiatives and integrating MBSE with modeling and simulation (M&S) tools
• Experience with Lifecycle Modeling Language (LML) and Innoslate
• Prior experience supporting defense research organizations or advanced development programs
