Referral Testing Manager - ESO - San Juan Capistrano, CA, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay range: $102,500 - $184,150 / year

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsible for ensuring uniformly high-quality service to meet established operational and financial targets and customer requirements in all areas of Referral Testing. Oversees the development of systematic approaches for assuring the highest levels of quality service to our customers. Responsible for managing complex Test Send Out procedures and contractual agreements for both Esoteric testing to other Esoteric business units and out of network laboratories. Responsible for overseeing multiple departments of centralized TSO functions for Esoteric business units across multiple sites.



Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Referrals departments across Esoteric through oversight of daily operations and direction of Referral Supervisors.
  • May manage multiple non-technical teams, responsible for goal setting, performance management, development, coaching, and feedback of direct reports.
  • Ensures integrity of specimens sent to other facilities meet the criteria necessary to provide accurate and timely results.
  • Makes timely and cost-effective decisions for short- and long-term sustainability of business.
  • Provides clear vision and direction for direct reports; removes roadblocks for team and provides guidance in navigating through demanding situations.
  • Motivates, recognizes, develops, and retains employees within team through strong mentorship and development opportunities.
  • Fosters a culture of engagement and inclusion within department.
  • Ensures effective collaboration with other Technical and Non-Technical departments to promote standard processes.
  • Create and implement a roadmap/plan for teams to align with Quest Diagnostics Vision/Goals.
  • Oversees, evaluates, and approves staffing levels within department(s).
  • Monitors and reports department(s) metrics as necessary. Adjust and mitigate to align with Quest Diagnostics Visions/Goals.
  • Track/Enter Time/Attendance of direct reports.
  • Ensure Quest Diagnostics Compliance and Security policies are followed.
  • Drive for Continuous Improvement
  • Periodically inspects Quality Measures and Controls, review and resolve Quality issues.
  • All other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

Required WorkExperience:



  • Minimum of Five years previous Clinical or Anatomic Pathology laboratory experience required.
  • Three years in a Supervisory role required.


Physical and Mental Requirements:



  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.


Knowledge:



  • Experience in leading team members to reach goals and objectives.
  • Experience in meeting high performance standards regarding work quality and quantity.
  • Ability to assist Supervisor with issues pertaining to employee performance and/or attendance.
  • Ability to assist Supervisor with complex employee issues regarding attitude and/or personal issues.


Skills:



  • Excellent communication/verbal skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Strong writing, composition and negotiating skills.
  • Proficient desktop skills including Microsoft Suite of products, Internet etc.


Education



  • Bachelor's Degree BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and work experience in Clinical and/or Anatomic laboratory required. (Required)
  • Master's Degree Advanced degree in relevant discipline (Business, Health Care Administration, Science & Technology) preferred. (Preferred)


Languages



  • English (Required)


Licenses and Certifications



  • QMS Bronze Certification (Preferred)
  • QMS Silver Certification (Preferred)
