This is an opportunity to ensure that Microsoft customers worldwide have the necessary cloud and AI infrastructure capacity to meet their needs and enable their AI transformation.

In the role ofSenior Corporate Counsel, Infrastructure Legal Affairs, youwill lead a team providinglegal adviceandcounsel to the Azure Hardware and Systems Infrastructure division within Microsoft.This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection oftechnology development,manufacturing,supplychain,andintellectual property.

Responsibilities

Legal Advice and Counsel

  • Serve asone ofthe primary legaladvisorsfor the Azure Hardware and Systems Infrastructure divisionand managea team of attorneys.

  • Identifyandanticipatehighly complexlegal and/or other business issues.

  • Serve as a key business partner and advisor to senior executives.

  • Manage a wide variety ofnegotiations and transactions with unique IP andtechnologyissues related tosemiconductor andother hardware development,manufacturingandlogistics, supplychainand procurement.

  • Collaborate with specialists in trade, IP, andotherCELA partners as needed toescalate and drive decisions.

Solution Implementation and Process Improvement

  • Develop and implement solutions thatanticipateand mitigate risks.

  • Manage and develop relationships with clients to create strategic and innovative solutions that address issues and achieve businessobjectives.

  • Provide feedback and evaluate process improvements including the development and deployment of AI tooling thatincreasesefficiencies.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Support and guide a team of attorneys who support the Azure Hardware and Systems Infrastructure division and, whereappropriate, also coordinate and work across Infrastructure Legal Affairs.

  • Coach and defineobjectivesand outcomes that enable your team to adapt and grow.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate Degree or international equivalent degree AND 6+ years' experience as a practicing attorney in the areas of IP and technology transactions; supply chain, manufacturing, logistics and procurement; and related counselingto executive business leaders.

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • Active license to practice law ina jurisdictionand capable of meeting admission requirements in relevantjurisdiction.

Additionalor Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience advising onand negotiating agreements forcutting-edgetechnology, including semiconductors.

  • Ability to contribute effectively by working independently and efficiently on projects in a fast-paced environmentwhile being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.

  • Ability todemonstratesound and practical business judgement in ambiguous situations.

Legal Counsel M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $147,000 - $258,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $185,900 - $278,900 per year.
