Description The Clinical Exercise Physiologist works in the application of physical activity and behavioral interventions for chronic diseases and health conditions that have been shown to provide therapeutic and/or functional benefit. The Clinical Exercise Physiologist provides primary and secondary prevention and rehabilitative strategies designed to improve physical fitness and health in population ranging across the lifespan. Will also assist the program manager with special projects aimed to enhance cardiopulmonary rehabilitation service line delivery and growth. Responsibilities: Other information: Education Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, exercise or movement science, or kinesiology from an accredited college required. Master's degree preferred. Licensure/Certification Certified as an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP). BCLS certification required; recertification required bi-annually. ACLS certification is required (must be obtained within one year of hire date). Experience Two years experience in health care, clinical exercise testing, and/or cardiopulmonary rehabilitation setting, preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities *Good interpersonal and customer service skills. *Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English. *Proficient with MS Office and able to learn new software rapidly. Valid NC Driver's License: No If driving a Wayne UNC Vehicle, must be 21 years old and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
