The Lawrenceville School seeks enthusiastic, energetic, collegial individuals who want to work with both adults and students in a collaborative and inclusive academic setting.

Private music teachers provide music lessons about how to sing or play a musical instrument to students within school settings.

This is a temporary position.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and prepares lessons in relation to individual's needs and examination.
  • Acquires appropriate teaching materials and resources.
  • Plans, schedules and executes private, individual instruction on their primary instrument or voice.
  • Motivates students and encourages progress.
  • Works directly with the Performing Arts Private Instruction Program Coordinator for planning and management needs.
Requirements
  • Music Degree.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to recognize and correct errors.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience providing private, individual instruction on their primary instrument or voice.
