Position Description

As the Human Resources Manager II, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our manufacturing plant in Trenton, MO. As one of the plants in our growth business unit, this location is key to our strategy, and we need a strong HR leader to support our transformation plan. You will serve as the front-line HR support for the plant, providing hands-on guidance and expertise to employees and leadership alike.

This role requires a proactive mindset and a passion for fostering a positive workplace environment. You will be responsible for strategically managing all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, performance management, compliance, and strategic planning. You will also collaborate closely with other plant HR Managers-both within the vertical and across other verticals-to share best practices, align on initiatives, and drive consistency in employee experience across the organization.

Your leadership will be crucial in enhancing employee engagement, supporting organizational change, and aligning HR initiatives with the plant's goals to ensure operational excellence and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for the plant, providing day-to-day support and guidance to employees and managers.
  • Implement strategies to attract and retain skilled employees, especially during the turnaround phase where recruitment is critical.
  • Promote and maintain a positive work environment that encourages open communication, collaboration, and employee engagement.
  • Partner with Learning & Development to design and deliver programs that upskill employees and align competencies with evolving plant needs.
  • Support employees through transitions and organizational changes, ensuring clear communication and continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, managing legal risks and maintaining ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Actively engage with HR peers across plants and verticals to share insights, solve challenges, and drive continuous improvement.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree and HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to both growth and turnaround phases.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and support teams through change.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute HR strategies that drive performance and align with business goals.
  • Deep understanding of labor laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written-with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex HR challenges.
