JOB SUMMARY

Waukesha Dallas components facility is looking for an individual to lead the staff in the warehouse to support world class manufacturing and sales operations. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment, including inbound receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, inventory accuracy, and team productivity. The role plans labor, assigns daily work, enforces safety and housekeeping standards, and partners cross-functionally to support production and customer needs. In addition, this position coordinates facility maintenance contractors and site improvement activities that impact warehousing flow, safety, and uptime.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan labor and coverage: review timecards and time-off requests to ensure proper staffing levels; create daily staffing and workload plans.
  • Delegate and load work: assign daily tasks and priorities; ensure all staff is fully loaded with work to utilize resources and meet service expectations.
  • Receiving & shipping oversight: oversee receiving and dispatching procedures; coordinate inbound/outbound shipments; verify shipment accuracy and condition; maintain shipping documentation as required.
  • Inventory control: validate and improve inventory handling procedures; ensure materials are properly identified, stored, and transacted in ERP/WMS; investigate discrepancies and drive corrective actions.
  • Cycle count management: ensure cycle counts are conducted, reviewed timely, and variances are resolved with sustainable countermeasures.
  • Work order execution: release, sequence, and prioritize work orders to ensure work centers follow priority order; review completed work orders for completeness and labor time balance/accuracy.
  • Performance management: track, update, and communicate warehouse KPIs; identify constraints and implement improvements.
  • Employee training and development: train, coach, and develop staff; maintain training coverage for business continuity and employee growth; develop work instructions and standard work where needed.
  • Continuous improvement (Kaizen/Lean): implement, create, and coordinate Kaizen activities; keep improvement projects focused to completion and sustain gains through standardization and 5S.
  • Department coordination: capture feedback and share with other to improve collaboration, material flow, and customer service.
  • Facility maintenance contractors & improvements: coordinate contractor access, scheduling, and scope for facility and warehouse-related maintenance (e.g., docks, racking, lighting, HVAC impacts to storage areas); support bid/quote processes and ensure contractor compliance with site safety and infrastructure standards; maintain maintenance records and follow-up on corrective actions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong supervisory skills: staffing, delegation, coaching, and accountability in a fast-paced manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • Working knowledge of shipping/receiving processes and documentation (e.g., bills of lading, freight coordination) and inventory control best practices.
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS transactions, data accuracy, and KPI reporting (Excel/Office).
  • Continuous improvement mindset (Lean/Kaizen/5S), problem solving, and root-cause corrective action skills.
  • Safety leadership: ability to enforce safe work practices for forklifts/material handling and maintain organized, compliant work areas.
  • Vendor/contractor coordination skills (scope definition, scheduling, recordkeeping, and compliance monitoring).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external carriers/contractors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education / Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of warehouse/logistics experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including leadership/lead responsibilities.

Preferred Education / Experience

  • 5 years shipping and receiving experience with material handling experience preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/WMS (e.g., SAP) and cycle count/physical inventory programs.
  • Lean/Kaizen/5S training or certification; forklift trainer or safety-related training.
  • Experience coordinating facility maintenance work, contractors, or small site improvement projects.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Key Working Relationships

  • Works closely with Production, Scheduling, Purchasing, Quality, Maintenance/Facilities, and Finance; interfaces with freight carriers and maintenance contractors.

Physical Demands

  • Work involves typical warehouse and manufacturing environments. Requires the ability to push/pull/lift/carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing as needed
