Blue Nights(6pm-6am), Duraplate Operator, 12HR DuraPlate Ext-Blue - North Plant

Assist in the manufacture of Duraplate sheets within Wabash and ISO standards. Performing various skilled manual duties requiring knowledge of Duraplate manufacturing techniques, tools, equipment, and safety precautions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:

• Assist in the manufacture of Duraplate sheets by applicable Wabash and ISO standards.
• Report defects and the need for repairs to production and maintenance leadership
• Wear all required PPE such as shoes, gloves, sleeves, safety glasses, face shields, respirators, hearing protection, heat-shielding hoods, jackets, fall protection, etc.
• Able to work from various heights to ensure Line is running properly.
• Able to work in adverse climate conditions (hot, cold, dark, loud, etc.).
• Able to work in small spaces, kneeling or bending for extended periods.

Qualifications:

• High school degree or G.E.D. equivalent is required Basic reading/writing and verbal skills.
• General computer skills (Excel and Word)
• Strong math skills
• Ability to read and use calipers and gauging equipment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Able to exercise independent judgment when performing responsibilities.
• Perform work at a quality level that meets or exceeds the Wabash and ISO standards.

• Shares information with others to help them perform their responsibilities safely and efficiently.

Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:

Duraplate experience and education are great to come into this position with. However, it's not required, here at Wabash, we give you the training to become comfortable in any Duraplate position. Upon receiving an offer letter from us, you'll undergo orientation and several days of training, preparing you for the production floor.

Physical Demands:

As a Duraplate Operator, you are regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle, and operate tools or controls for the length of your entire shift. You will need the full range of motion in your arms and hands. Operators may also work in small spaces and frequently lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and good hand-eye coordination.
