Job Summary

Coordinates incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw materials, finished products and parts that include functions such as warehousing, shop and delivery services to ensure material availability and delivery when needed to meet production schedules. Compiles data on order volume, production schedules and forecasts and applies statistical methods to estimate future materials requirements.


Essential Duties

  • Demonstrates strong leadership by guiding and supervising a team on-site. Manages uniform distribution to on-site partners and coordinates tasks for material handlers during idle periods. Actively engages in weekly and bi-weekly planning meetings as well as team gatherings.
  • Loads, unloads, stores, transports and furnishes craft workers with materials, tools, equipment and supplies. Arranges for excess material to be returned to vendor for credit.
  • Operates equipment and machinery such as backhoes, forklifts, man lifts, power tools and tampers. Assists plumbers, welders, sheet metal workers, or HVAC workers if qualified.
  • Maintains records of back orders and communicate with vendors to make sure shortages are shipped as soon as possible. Coordinates the repairs and replacement of tools. Manages spare tools and makes recommendations of how many are needed, develops usage guidelines and ensures spares are ready for use.

  • Utilizes computerized or manual inventory record of company and/or rental tools and equipment. Completes damage reports for shipping agent and returns damaged goods to vendors. Receives material and equipment; compares it to approved submittal and records information on a receiving log.

Minimum Requirements

Associate's Degree in Purchasing or Inventory Management is preferred.

Must have valid state-issued driver's license.
Must be certified to operate equipment such as backhoes, forklifts, man lifts, power tools and tampers as required.

Rigger/Signal Person Certification is required.

5-7 years of experience as a Material Coordinator.
