Assistant Research Professor, Child Health (College of Medicine-Phoenix)

The successful candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of a faculty member in Department of Child Health while conducting research as a member of the Phoenix Children's Research Institute (PCRI). This includes actively participating in teaching, service and scholarly work. The candidate must qualify for an appointment at the rank of assistant research professor. The successful candidate must have a PhD or MD/PhD in Materials Science or Nanotechnology with 3 or more years of postdoctoral training. Expertise in the design and synthesis of nanoparticles specifically targeting the lung tissue is required. Experience with preclinical animal models of pediatric lung diseases is preferred. Scholarly accomplishments of the applicant must be supported by the publication record in high impact journals in the fields of Respiratory Biology/ Medicine and Nanotechnology.

• Support the Phoenix Children's Research Institute (PCRI).
• Publish high impact scientific research in the area of Respiratory Biology/ Medicine and Nanotechnology.
• Develop collaborations with pertinent faculty within the college and partner institutions.
• Contribute to the teaching and service missions of the college.
• Engage in academic activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Hold a PhD or MD/PhD in Materials Science or Nanotechnology from an accredited university.
• Demonstrate experience studying pulmonary disease.

• Have expertise in the design and synthesis of nanoparticles specifically targeting the lung tissue.
• Have experience mentoring students and trainees in research projects.
• Exhibit outstanding interpersonal communication and professionalism.
• Demonstrate a good publication record.
• Have experience with cell culture and animal studies of pediatric lung diseases.
