Your Role on Our Team

Milwaukee Tool, an industry-leading manufacturer of heavy-duty power tools, accessories, hand tools and safety solutions for professional users worldwide, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated EDI Manager to lead and evolve our Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) capability with our Distributor & Supplier Trading Partners. This role is responsible for managing live EDI production operations, leading a team of EDI Analysts and a Project Leader, and ensuring EDI readiness and excellence across enterprise initiatives.

The EDI Manager is a hands-on people leader and strategic partner who balances operational rigor with continuous improvement. This role owns EDI performance, trading partner enablement, and enterprise alignment to ensure accurate, timely, and increasingly touchless order-to-cash (O2C) transactions while advancing industry best practices and compliance.

EDI Manager Wildly Important Goals

1. EDI Quality & Stability

  • Reduce EDI data errors and failures to the industry average of under 1%, with continuous, measurable progress driven through strong operational management, root cause analysis, and team development. Partner with cross-functional teams to reach Milwaukee's order-to-cash (O2C) vision of 90%+ touchless orders.

2. Trading Partner Enablement

  • Further entrench EDI with Distributors and Suppliers by onboarding 10 new Distributors and/or document additions in 1H 2026, with increased expectations in 2H 2026.
  • Work directly with the organization to increase the available documents shared and fields mapping options for Trading Partners.

You'llbe DISRUPTIVE through these Duties and Responsibilities

1. EDI Production Operations & Team Leadership (Top Priority)

  • Lead and manage a team of EDI Analysts responsible for day-to-day live production monitoring, issue resolution, and trading partner support.
  • Ensure EDI documents are processed accurately, timely, and in alignment with business SLAs and customer expectations.
  • Establish clear priorities, workload balancing, escalation paths, and coverage models to support a high-volume, mission-critical environment.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and development to build technical depth, business acumen, and long-term career growth within the team.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex EDI production issues impacting customers, distributors, suppliers, or internal stakeholders.

2. Enterprise Projects & EDI Readiness

  • Manage and prioritize enterprise initiatives that require EDI preparedness, including but not limited to: New Distribution Centers (DCs), Onboarding of additional countries or regions, New EDI document types, Business process changes impacting order-to-cash O2C or procure-to-pay P2P flows
  • Lead and support a Project Leader responsible for enterprise EDI-related projects, ensuring alignment with broader business timelines and objectives.
  • Serve as the EDI subject matter expert (SME) in cross-functional project teams, translating business requirements into EDI readiness and execution plans.
  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans related to EDI within enterprise initiatives.

3. Continuous Improvement & Value Creation

  • Drive continuous improvement of the order-to-cash O2C processes with a focus on document timeliness, accuracy, and automation.
  • Leverage team knowledge and data insights to identify trends, root causes, and systemic opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner cross-functionally (Sales Operations, IT, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance) to improve upstream and downstream processes impacting EDI performance with ultimate goal to have 90%+ of orders being touchless for the Milwaukee business overall.
  • Improve team efficiency and effectiveness through standardization, automation, tooling enhancements, and clear operating procedures.
  • Establish and track KPIs related to EDI quality, throughput, onboarding speed, and partner adoption.

4. Trading Partner Onboarding & Expansion

  • Directly oversee a Snr Analyst who is responsible for the onboarding of new Distributor and Supplier trading partners, including new relationships and expansion of document types with existing partners.
  • Ensure a scalable, repeatable onboarding model that balances speed, quality, and compliance.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external trading partners to drive adoption of EDI standards and best practices.
  • Work with Sales Leader for Distributor & Supply Chaon for Suppliers to prioritize the onboarding backlog and develop a consistent, visible onboarding roadmap.

5. Policy, Documentation & Standards (2026 Priority)

  • Lead the creation, improvement, and governance of EDI policies, standards, and documentation.
  • Establish clear guidance around Milwaukee-specific mapping options, document types, and supported standards.
  • Build and maintain documentation that reduces onboarding time, improves consistency, and supports industry compliance.
  • Ensure documentation is accessible, current, and aligned with evolving enterprise needs and EDI best practices.

The TOOLSyou'llbring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in EDI operations, integration, or related enterprise systems.
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience, including managing technical or analytical teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of EDI standards (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT), common document types, and O2C processes.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale initiatives such as ERP launch, system implementations, new DC launches, or geographic expansion.
  • Proven ability to analyze trends, perform root cause analysis, and drive measurable improvements.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence across functions and levels.
  • Demonstrated success building, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
