Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Hospital Patrol in Shelbyville, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication and customer service, document observations, and report concerns promptly. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and assigned security-related procedures within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of corridors, lobbies, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting clinical staff during emergency response activities as directed.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, assist with directions and de-escalation, and report suspicious activity and/or policy violations to site leadership and/or law enforcement as appropriate.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift handoffs, and communicate observations to supervisors and client contacts in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be able to work in a hospital environment where vaccines are required.
  • Be able to work in a hospital morgue environment.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital environment.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
