Job Summary:

The Revenue Cycle Rep is responsible for the daily operation of the Cash Management Missing Payment Follow-up department at Eastowne. The primary focus of the team is to ensure accurate and timely posting of Physician Insurance payments; conducting post payment audits, including follow up with payers to determine the correct posting of Missing payments and denials. The position requires medical terminology, and Medicare/Medicaid/Managed Care carrier knowledge.

Requires substantial knowledge of all carrier policies, procedures and practices necessary to collect carrier accounts receivable and resolve denials. Participates and assists in special projects. Perform all duties in a manner which promotes teamwork and reflects UNC Health Care's mission and philosophy.

Responsibilities:

* Research unidentified payments as needed through payer websites, billing system, or phone calls.

* Follow appropriate steps to have missing insurance checks reissued to the correct address.

* Identify concerns with systems, training or procedures.

* Identify third party payer trends causing account reconciliation issues.

* Provide assistance on special projects as needed.

* Meets/Exceeds Productivity & Quality Standards. Escalates issues management those issues impacting successful account resolution.

* Work as a team member towards common goals.

* Perform any other related duties incidental to the work described above.

* Two (2) years of experience in hospital or physician insurance related activities ((Authorization, Billing, Follow-Up, Call-Center, or Collections)
