Job Summary
Specialist, Technical Product Development assigned to the Cofer Technology Center is primarily responsible for coordinating and performing testing used in the development and qualification testing of medium voltage cables. They will also be responsible for recommendations on test area design, equipment acquisition, and the dissemination of testing data. They must be able to use the Cofer Center's ISO Quality System to help guide/direct daily quality activities. Key Responsibilities
Perform qualification testing for medium voltage and low voltage products. Develop and conduct testing programs on developmental products to confirm their compliance Coordinate testing programs with other groups to provide direction and guidance in product design. Work with other sections on test methods, equipment needs, area design and data accumulation and interpolation. Develop special testing programs to satisfy specific customer requests. Work with manufacturing in areas to resolve quality deficiencies. Provide technical leadership to gain and to maintain the Technology Center certification to ISO-17025 standards. Considerable report writing is required including goals and objectives, replies to customers and documentation of test data. Provide assistance in other testing areas as needed. Maintain a safe and orderly work environment. Required Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education & Experience
Knowledge of wire and cable design, manufacturing, testing medium voltage cables, and several years of experience in a wire and cable plant, engineering department or testing facility. Spans of Control Travel

Moving 5% Standing 5% Sitting 90% PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND VISUAL EFFORT Must be able to do lifting, bending over, and stooping while handling and terminating cable samples of various sizes from 1/0 to 1500 kcmil, both copper and aluminum.
