Department Summary The mission of the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life at UCLA is to enrich the personal growth and advancement of UCLA students through their involvement in, or affiliation with, the fraternity and sorority community. UCLA hosts a vibrant community consisting of 60 inter/national and local Greek-letter organizations, overseen by six governing councils. With approximately 3,500 students actively engaged, this community represents 13% of the undergraduate student body. Our office is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive learning environment where every student feels a sense of belonging, grounded in a shared dedication to their fraternal values and the core principles of True Bruin Values: Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Service, and Excellence. Position Summary The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Coordinator serves as primary advisor to two of the six governing councils as well as fraternities and sororities from all six councils, assists the Director in overseeing the Department's services and programs, serves as the Director's designee for selected committees, and provides necessary assistance to department staff in the absence of the Director. This incumbent is responsible for creating and implementing a programmatic plan that complements the Social Greek Letter Organizations (SGLO) that promote the ideals of their organizations, contributes to the mission of UCLA and the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life, while adhering to best practices in risk management and civil behavior. Also responsible for helping to engage all SGLOs together at UCLA and within the larger UCLA community. The Coordinator will be instrumental in helping to create a community that is engaging and positively contributing to the UCLA campus through their experiences within their chapters, participation in learning opportunities in the afforded effort in developing leaders at UCLA and beyond. The candidate for this position is expected to be a transformational leader for this community and Department while supporting and participating in the Division of Student Affairs training and development. As an engaged team member with colleagues in the Division of Campus Life portfolio, the Coordinator will also be a "bridge builder" with administrators and connecting students to departments and services. The primary purposes of these collaborative efforts are primarily to engage students with the campus community and to cultivate experiential learning opportunities Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range.
