Hourly Pay Range: $31.75 - $47.63 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
- Respiratory Therapist, Pulmonary Rehab
What you will need:
- License Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required
- Education: Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of respiratory therapy required
- Certification: CPR (BLS) required
- Pulmonary rehabilitation experience highly preferred
- Cardiac rehabilitation experience or willingness to cross-train preferred
What you will do:
- Provide outpatient respiratory therapy services within the Pulmonary Rehabilitation program
- Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and ongoing reassessments
- Develop individualized treatment and exercise plans based on patient condition and goals
- Assess exercise tolerance, determine appropriate exercise progression, and manage oxygen titration during activity
- Monitor physiological responses and adjust care plans to promote safe improvement
- Lead and supervise structured pulmonary rehabilitation exercise sessions, including warm-ups and cool-downs
- Provide patient and family education on breathing techniques, pulmonary disease management, activity guidelines, and risk factor modification
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care
- Support Cardiac Rehabilitation sessions when cross trained
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policy
- Ensure emergency preparedness within the rehabilitation setting
- Participate in departmental initiatives and quality improvement efforts
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, physicians, and care team members
