The Paid Media Lead plays a critical role within Ciena's Digital Marketing team by executing and optimizing global paid media programs that drive measurable business outcomes. This position enables datainformed media investment decisions through handson campaign management, performance analysis, and crossfunctional collaboration. The role balances strategic media planning with rigorous operational execution across digital channels.

How you will make an impact:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and agency partners to plan and activate paid media strategies across awareness, consideration, and demand generation programs

  • Lead planning, launch, and management of paid media campaigns across programmatic, Google Ads, YouTube, Connected TV, and trade publication channels

  • Execute publisherdirect and trade publication media buys, including sponsorships, highimpact placements, contextual targeting, and video activations

  • Optimize campaign performance through analysis of audience, conversion, and media data to inform bidding, budgeting, pacing, and targeting decisions

  • Apply audience, contextual, retargeting, intent, and accountbased targeting strategies to improve efficiency and outcomes

  • Translate performance data into clear reporting, insights, and actionable recommendations for stakeholders

  • Partner with analytics, web, content, and regional marketing teams to support attribution, landing page performance, and lead conversion

The must haves:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.

  • Experience: 8+ years of experience managing paid media campaigns, including programmatic display and Google Ads.

  • Application of demandside platforms, audience strategies, and measurement frameworks to support paid media optimization

  • Utilization of advertising platforms including Google Ads, YouTube, and ZoomInfo Marketing

  • Application of keyword, contextual, and audience targeting techniques with interpretation of campaign and conversion data

  • Experience executing publisherdirect and trade publication media buys

  • Ability to communicate campaign performance insights and challenge lowvalue media investments

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in B2B, enterprise, or long buyingcycle marketing environments

  • Background collaborating with analytics, web, content, and regional marketing teams

  • Exposure to budget planning, forecasting, and performancebased media allocation

  • Familiarity with privacy, identity, and AIdriven optimization trends in digital media

  • Ability to translate technical concepts for nontechnical stakeholders

  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a highvelocity environment

  • Demonstrated problemsolving and proactive working approach

Pay Range:
The annual pay range for this position in Canada is $73, 200 - $116, 900
The annual pay range for this position in the USA is $84, 700 - $135, 300

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
