About the role: Boston Scientific is seeking a Service Quality Engineer III to support service quality across our capital equipment portfolio.

At this level, this role operates as a strong, independent contributor, owning service quality activities for assigned products or platforms. You will partner closely with Service Development Engineering, Design Quality, and Field Service, to ensure products are designed and supported with robust, compliant, and effective service solutions.

This role is ideal for a quality engineer who has moved beyond task execution and is ready to own service quality for products, lead investigations, and influence cross-functional decisions using data, risk-based thinking, and regulatory insight.

Your responsibilities will include:

Service Quality Ownership



  • Own service quality support for assigned products or platforms across development and sustaining.
  • Lead service quality deliverables including Service Risk Analysis (SRA), service plans, service documentation reviews, and validation activities in partnership with Service Development Engineering.
  • Ensure service requirements are appropriately incorporated into product design and change control decisions.
  • Support service readiness and reliability during product launches, updates, and sustaining activities.


  • Lead service-related investigations and own medium-complexity NCEPs end-to-end.
  • Support and, as appropriate, lead CAPA activities related to service and field performance.
  • Analyze field service data, complaints, and trends to identify systemic risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Translate field learnings into preventive actions that improve product reliability and service effectiveness.



Quality System & Compliance



  • Apply Boston Scientific Quality System requirements and regulatory standards (FDA QSR, ISO 13485, ISO 14971) to service quality activities.
  • Ensure service documentation, configuration management, and data capture systems support compliance and traceability.
  • Participate as a subject matter contributor during internal and external audits related to service quality.
  • Interpret quality system requirements and apply intent in day-to-day decision making.



Cross-Functional Collaboration



  • Partner with Service Development Engineering, Design Quality, and Field Service teams to resolve service quality issues.
  • Represent the Service Quality perspective in design reviews, change reviews, and post-market forums.
  • Collaborate across divisions to share best practices and improve consistency in service quality approaches.



Required qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline.
  • 4 years of experience in Service Quality, Operations Quality or Product Quality within a regulated industry (medical device preferred).
  • Experience leading investigations, NCEPs, and supporting CAPAs.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environments.



Preferred qualifications:



  • Masters degree in engineering
  • Experience working in medical device industry
  • Experience working with medical electrical equipment
  • Experience with enterprise systems (SAP, PLM, service management tools)

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
