Job Description




As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver in Nashville, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and badge checks. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license, and you will respond to calls for service, document observations, and communicate professionally with team members and site personnel while living our agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, integrity-driven values.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to the client by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Carry and maintain assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal protocols, post orders, and applicable laws and/or regulations; exercise sound judgment and professional communication during all interactions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, access issues, suspicious activity, and/or service disruptions; coordinate with site contacts and public responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, yards, perimeter fencing, and critical infrastructure areas to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or tampering; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor and control access at gates, doors, and vehicle entry points by verifying authorization, checking identification and/or credentials, documenting entries and exits, and completing accurate incident and activity reports.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
