Develops and recommends solutions to engineering requirements for complex or specialized hardware, to ensure that design objectives are met, including program scope, cost and schedule constraints. Applies electrical engineering principles to support production/legacy designs, supplier products and test equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops conceptual and detailed product specifications by analyzing performance and customer requirements. Investigates design factors such as function, materials, performance, interchangeability, cost (non-recurring and recurring), operational efficiency, and contractual requirements. May develop preliminary designs from customer input and descriptive information provided by others.

  • Design, fabricate, modify, test and evaluate circuitry of electronic devices or systems. Develop documentation (schematics, theory of operation, design package, etc.) for hardware and test boxes as needed. Requires a working knowledge of Analog & Digital electronic theory and design. Knowledge of microcontrollers and related software/tools is a plus.

  • Design, test and build circuits and troubleshoot production and test equipment to identify root cause of failure or noncompliance. Must support Corrective Action.

  • Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts to integrate motors, actuators, and other electrical devices in the design and development of electromechanical fuel and pneumatic components.

  • Choose appropriate components and materials that meet the strict requirements for aerospace applications and ensure all designs comply with rigorous aerospace standards, regulations and obsolescence.

  • Participate in design reviews and collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and regulatory agencies.

  • Coordinate with Responsible Engineer in the maintenance of production/legacy designs of existing fuel and pneumatic product lines for both Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Product Support Team (PST or aftermarket team). EE related tasks: i.e.: Troubleshooting, Failure Analysis and Corrective Action (RCCA),

  • EMI related tasks (MIL-STD-461 and DO-160), component obsolesces/replacement; design upgrade; test boxes/equipment; design services; etc.

  • Provide supplier EE support as it relates to assembly and test of Parker hardware at off-site facilities.

  • Develop and test prototypes, perform simulations, analyze test data, and troubleshoot electrical issues to ensure component reliability and performance.

  • Coordinate with the Test Equipment Team in the maintenance of New/Legacy designs to support production. Emphasis for new development, design and implementation / documentation of National Instruments based test equipment for both new and legacy products. Goal on reduction of recurring production cost through innovation of multi-use hardware and software modules.

  • Provides technical information for review with product engineering teams using established engineering practices, standards, and documentation methods (e.g. structured design process; customer design reviews). Writes supporting documentation for procedures and technical reports; may write technical responses or proposals for customers.

  • Individual will work in singularity and/or in a team environment to resolve and complete task(s).
