Job Summary: The RPA Solution Architect is responsible for designing scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise automation solutions using leading RPA platforms. This role defines automation architectures, development standards, governance models, and integration patterns that streamline operations and reduce manual effort across business units. The incumbent collaborates with business analysts, RPA developers, process owners, IT teams, and leadership to deliver high-quality automations across healthcare, government, financial services, and commercial organizations. Supported platforms may include Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, and other enterprise RPA tools. Job Duties:
* Architects end-to-end RPA solutions including bots, workflows, triggers, exception handling, and human-in-the-loop processes
* Develops solution designs, architecture diagrams, PDDs/SDDs, and configuration approaches consistent with platform best practices
* Establishes scalable automation patterns for attended/unattended bots, transactional processing, queue-based workloads, and high-volume operations
* Ensures solutions adhere to security, performance, and maintainability standards
* Leads process discovery workshops with SMEs to identify automation opportunities and determine suitability for RPA
* Conducts complexity, feasibility, and ROI assessments to build automation roadmaps
* Re-engineers inefficient or fragmented processes to optimize automation coverage and long-term maintainability
* Documents current-state and future-state workflows with a focus on operational efficiency
* Defines RPA development standards, reusable components, naming conventions, and documentation templates
* Creates architectural guardrails around credential management, access control, exception handling, logging, and monitoring
* Standardizes environments, deployment processes, and version control across the automation practice
* Leads design reviews, validates solution feasibility, and ensures compliance with enterprise IT and security policies
* Collaborates with IT and integration teams to implement secure connections between bots and enterprise systems
* Works with business analysts to translate requirements into technical specifications and automation-ready process flows
* Coordinates with infrastructure teams to ensure proper configuration of RPA runtimes, orchestrators, and environments
* Supports developers during build cycles with design clarification and troubleshooting
* Defines monitoring, alerting, and error-handling strategies for production bots
* Ensures automations are resilient to system changes, interface updates, and dependency failures
* Oversees release management, deployment staging, and change control processes
* Provides escalation support for complex production issues and system-level challenges
* Supports automation pipeline planning, prioritization, and capacity forecasting
* Guides RPA developers through technical implementation, ensuring adherence to design and standards
* Participates in UAT, cutover planning, and hypercare support for new deployments
* Tracks delivery progress and communicates risks, issues, and design changes to stakeholders
* Stays current with advancements in RPA platforms, workflow orchestration, and enterprise integration tools
* Identifies opportunities to enhance automation quality through reusable components, templates, and improved framework standards
* Supports scaling of the RPA practice by contributing to COE maturity, capability development, and platform governance
* Other duties as required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent, required
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or Business Administration, preferred Experience:
* Seven (7) or more years of experience in system design, software engineering, and solution architecture for RPA implementations, required
* Experience designing secure, scalable automation solutions in enterprise environments, required
* Strong understanding of business process mapping, optimization, and workflow design, required
* Experience in healthcare, government, financial services, or commercial organizations, preferred Certifications:
* RPA platform certifications (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Platform), preferred Software:
* Strong expertise with at least one enterprise RPA platform (Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism), required
* Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, ERP/CRM/EMR systems, and message queues, required
* Proficiency with BPMN modeling tools, Visio/Miro, PDD/SDD templates, required
* Experience with orchestration tools such as UiPath Orchestrator, Automation Anywhere Control Room, Power Platform Admin Center, required
* Experience with monitoring tools, log analytics, and control frameworks, required
* Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Logic Apps, MuleSoft, Boomi), preferred Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

* Learns quickly and adapts to new technologies Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. National Range: $165,000 - $195,000
Maryland Range: $165,000 - $195,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $165,000 - $195,000
