Position Title: Welder / Fabricator - 2nd Shift Wage: $22.00 - $27.00/Hour Shift: 2nd Shift Hours: 03:30 PM - 02:00 AM (Monday - Thursday) Step into a high-skill, high-reward role in Merrill, WI, where your craftsmanship isn't just valued - it powers innovation around the world. Welder / Fabricator Responsibilities: - Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and work instructions - Plan, layout and sequence fabrication and welding operations - Perform MIG and/or Flux-Core welding on various steel materials and thicknesses - Fabricate and assemble metal components to specifications - Set up welding equipment, jigs, fixtures, and tooling as needed - Inspect finished welds and parts for correct size, weld quality, and overall accuracy - Identify defects in welds and take corrective action to ensure quality standards - Use grinders, saws, torches, and other metal finishing tools - Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area - Work efficiently in a high-mix / low-repetition environment - Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet production goals Requirements For Welder / Fabricator: - Experience in MIG or Flux welding processes - Working knowledge of blueprints - Ability to develop, layout and plan sequence of operations - Knowledge of weld defects and discontinuities Wausau@qpsemployment.com QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
