SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

This position executes day-to-day cost accounting activities including inventory valuation, product costing, variance analysis, maintenance of Item Master and BOM/Route data, and operational cost reporting. The role supports Manufacturing, Product Management, R&D, and Finance through accurate cost insights, analysis, and process improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS



  1. Analyze manufacturing labor and overhead accounts and update annual conversion rates.
  2. Maintain Item Master, Bill of Materials, and Routes in the ERP system.
  3. Determine and report financial valuation of all inventory categories.
  4. Prepare and update cost estimates for Sales, Product Management, and Manufacturing.
  5. Support new product costing and cost-scenario modeling.
  6. Provide cost analyses to Manufacturing and R&D for process improvements.
  7. Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reflection of operations.
  8. Analyze monthly manufacturing activity to ensure reporting accuracy.
  9. Support pricing strategy and margin analyses.
  10. Analyze and review purchase price variances
  11. Prepare and analyze standard vs. actual labor and material variances.
  12. Monitor cycle count reconciliations across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  13. Monitor accuracy and timeliness of inventory transactions.
  14. Determine financial implications of inventory transactions.
  15. Analyze and report scrap and discard activity, recommending improvements.
  16. Drive efficiencies in cost accounting processes.
  17. Perform special projects as assigned.
  18. Maintain cost accounting documentation and work instructions.
  19. Support internal, external, ISO, and financial audits.
  20. Provide backup support to Accounting Manager.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline required; CMA preferred.
  • 6-8 years of cost accounting experience in a standard costing environment.
  • Experience with Infor Syteline ERP strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills required. PowerBI reporting experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and meet deadlines



**WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL DEMANDS:

The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work). Travel demands for this position are estimated up to 5%. If travel is required, this travel may include customer visits, events/trade shows, and completion of presentations primarily throughout Domestic US or International regions. Employees must comply with all travel recommendations regarding "safe travel" according to company policies and guidelines, and all federal, state, local, and international orders.

**PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

This also includes standing for up to two and a half hours consecutively, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, stooping, fingering, and grasping. Expressing and receiving detailed information through written and oral communication. Also has an ability to make sound, appropriate, and prompt decisions within the guidelines of the role.
