Required Licensure/Certification: Must possess a valid PA Paramedic license or obtain one within 120 days. Current advanced & basic cardiac life support (ACLS & CPR).

Summary

Accountable for department performance by ensuring operational readiness. Mentoring and managing staff to promote quality, safety, and excellence in care. Accountable for the accurate and timely processing of payroll. Accountable for completing staff evaluations within 15 days of the due date. Accountable for procurement and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and instruments for direct patient care and support areas. Accountable for effective cost control, ordering, delivery, distribution, inventory, and evaluation of systems for equipment, supplies, and instruments. Accountable for maintaining department-assigned vehicles in a state of readiness for patient care and/or transport according to department needs. In collaboration with Lifeline Leadership, plans and implements programs and activities necessary to ensure high-quality, cost-effective operations. Promotes and identifies quality improvement initiatives that are aligned with departmental and organizational safety and operational objectives. Maintains clinical presence on the unit by working direct clinical shifts regularly.

Knowledge: Requires knowledge of Maryland's EMS system, current protocols, standards, and regulations. Requires general knowledge of department and institutional policies, procedures, and guidelines. Requires understanding of inventory control. Requires computer knowledge (hardware and software) specific to the use of email, electronic patient care reporting, data reports, and word processing, etc.

Ability to satisfy the role of Paramedic Transport Technician.

Education: Associate of Arts degree or the completion of 60 credits towards a Bachelor's degree. Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred; successful completion of an accredited paramedic training program required. Requires a professional level of knowledge of healthcare delivery systems or related field.

Work Experience & Required Licensure, Certification: Required minimum of two years of EMS or hospital experience within the last three years. Preferred minimum of one year as a full-time advanced life support (ALS) provider. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

National Registry and State of Maryland Paramedic licensure. District of Columbia Paramedic license or obtain within 120 days. PA Paramedic license or obtain within 120 days. Current advanced & basic cardiac life support (ACLS & CPR). Within the first year of employment, the employee obtains and maintains: PALS, NRP, Trauma Life Support, and STABLE. The CCEMT-P certificate is current or obtained within the first two years of employment.

Salary Range: Minimum 31.96/hour - Maximum 55.95/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
