Overview:

Join HGA's National Lighting Design team shaping spaces with purpose and impact - Junior Lighting Designer wanted (Milwaukee, WI office)

Are you passionate about the art and science of lighting design? HGA is seeking a Junior Lighting Designer to join our Milwaukee office and collaborate on innovative, sustainable projects across healthcare, arts, education, and more.

What You'll Do:

    Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to create holistic lighting solutions
  • Support design development with technical analysis and creative input
  • Contribute to sustainable, high-performance environments that go beyond net-zero
  • assist team in lighting design in various project types;
  • support design projects with exceptional design thinking, project imagery, design research, and project documentation;
  • perform lighting calculations, layouts, detail design, fixture selection, reports and presentation creations for lighting projects;
  • work on multiple projects and manage workload to meet project deadlines; and
  • work independently as well as interact effectively with others (including architects, interior designers, and electrical engineers).

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, architectural engineering, interior design or related field
  • 0-3 years' experience designing the lighting design for commercial, institutional and healthcare facilities
  • Ability to perform lighting calculations, layouts, detail design, fixture selection, reports and presentation creations for lighting projects
  • Experience using Outlook and Microsoft Office (or similar software)
  • Working knowledge of AGI
  • Proficiency with Revit
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator a plus
  • Experience in Rhino 3D, Sketchup or other 3D visualization programs a plus
  • A strong foundation in lighting design principles and technologies
  • Creativity, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit
  • Interest in sustainability and data-driven design

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $27.88 - $32.70/hour
