Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Patient Access Liaison serves as the centralized scheduling and access resource for a designated clinical specialty across all sites of practice. This role is responsible for owning and maintaining provider master schedule templates, ensuring standardized and consistent scheduling practices, and proactively managing outpatient clinic availability. The Patient Access Liaison collaborates closely with the Contact Center, RPO, providers, and clinical teams to support efficient patient access and an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain all provider master schedule templates for the assigned service line

  • Solely manage and implement schedule changes to ensure accuracy and consistency across all sites of practice

  • Proactively monitor, manage, and report on outpatient clinic resource availability within the specialty

  • Serve as the centralized scheduling and access resource for patients, referring physicians, and internal stakeholders

  • Ensure standardized scheduling protocols, workflows, and procedures are followed across all scheduled clinic resources

  • Collaborate with Contact Center and RPO teams to align scheduling practices and resolve access-related issues

  • Facilitate timely patient access by identifying gaps, barriers, and opportunities for improved scheduling efficiency

  • Support consistent master schedules and resource utilization across the entire service line

  • Respond promptly and professionally to patient and provider scheduling needs and inquiries

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives related to access, scheduling, and patient flow


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School or G.E.D. equivalent. Associates degree/ two years or more of college is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a business office/healthcare environment including experience with scheduling appointments and schedule maintenance.
  • Analytical ability required preparing physicians' schedules is preferred.
  • Familiarity with computer applications in a PC and patient scheduling environment is required as well as the strong Microsoft office skills.
