What to Expect

The Failure Analysis Team's mission is todetermineroot cause and contributing factors to improve the experience of Tesla products by reducing field issues, in collaboration with large cross-sections of other engineering teams. You willbe responsible fora wide variety of Energy Product systemslike Powerwall,Megapackand Supercharger that have high visibility and direct customer impact.

We are seeking a multi-faceted individual who willbe responsible forall aspects of product teardown tocomponentlevel,identifying, analyzing, root causing, implementing countermeasures, and reporting on issuesaffectingsystems including power electronics, low voltage, and batterysystemsamong others.

To be effective, the Technician will need to be intimately familiar with the detailed behavior of electrical components and tools for testing and debugging printed circuit boards. They will work with other engineering teams to quicklydetermineroot cause and implement countermeasures of field issues to improve quality, reliability, and durability of the products.


What You'll Do
  • Drive issue resolution from root cause analysis to countermeasure implementation on electromechanical components from Tesla's Energy Products
  • Use analytical tools and techniques including electrical debug,componentlevel inspection, and functional testing
  • Interface with engineers to drive resolution to the problems you haveidentified
  • Responsible fordeveloping debug procedures for other technicians to follow
  • Detail-oriented, capable of working independently, andhaveexcellent verbal and written communication skills

What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years of lab experiencerequired
  • 1+ years of experience with PCB debuggingpreferred
  • Strong demonstrable experience with electrical test equipment: Power Supplies, Multimeter, Oscilloscopes, and other common equipment
  • Extremely proficient at reading schematics and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsrequired
  • Proficient in data entry and writing procedures

    Expected Compensation
    $24.40 - $50.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
