is hiring for a contract Lab Assistant - Analytical Development
to join the Analytica Method Development team with our biopharmaceutical customer in San Diego, CA.
The Lab Assistant provides support to analysts to ensure testing needs can be completed in a timely manner by maintaining lab supplies, equipment, and materials.

M-F 9-5pm

Responsibilities

• Performs daily checks and calibrations of equipment (e.g. balances, storage chambers).
• Prepare cleaning solutions for laboratory use. Clean and maintain areas of the laboratory and equipment as needed.
• Perform routine cleaning following proper procedures for equipment such as biosafety cabinets, incubators, water baths, etc.
• Daily monitoring and restocking of laboratory supplies and chemicals; ensure proper cycling of supplies (first in first out) and monitor supply expiration dates.
• Orders and receives samples, lab chemicals, and consumable materials/supplies; maintains inventory of received materials and ensures accuracy of information entered.
• Prepares buffers and solutions used in the lab; cleans lab glassware and instruments used in reagent preparation.
• Prepares and labels aliquots of samples and reagents.
• Records laboratory activities in logbooks and lab notebook by following current good documentation practices (cGDP).
• Assists with maintenance of laboratory equipment list and perform periodic equipment inventory.
• Assists with periodic lab-wide cleaning schedule for refrigerators and freezer defrosts; assist with disposal of materials and organization of refrigerator/freezer shelves.
• Maintains laboratory 5S organization, perform additional duties as needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, AA/AS or BA/BS in chemistry, biology, or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with analytical, chemical, or biological laboratory environment.
• Ability to utilize email, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
