Overview

Our Data Center Mission Critical Group is seeking a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to work onsite in Amarillo, TX at a hyperscale data center project. This will be a 1 - 2 year project.

Per diem and travel allowance available for non-local candidates.


Responsibilities

A typical day is driven by collaboration and innovation, where you shape the future of projects by coordinating with diverse teams, solving complex technical challenges, managing budgets and schedules, and guiding your team to deliver high-quality, impactful results.

  • Collaboration & Coordination: Understand roles played by other disciplines and coordinate with them. Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data from others
  • Design & Planning: Prepare design studies, project scopes, and engineering estimates. Prepare electrical equipment procurement and installation specifications
  • Project Oversight & Leadership: Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery. Serve as Responsible Engineer (RE) or Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) to lead project success
  • Problem Solving & Innovation: Devise new approaches to technical problems
  • Fieldwork & Implementation: Travel for field installation, checkout, and start-up
  • Inspections & Reporting: Review of relevant reports for third party testing and inspection agency. Periodic visual inspections of electrical systems, and instrumentation & controls systems #LI-MB1 #onsite

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Minimum of 6 years of engineering design experience in data centers or similar
  • Experience in electrical codes, standards, and criteria for power systems
  • Knowledge of data center MEP systems
  • Data Center or mission critical construction and inspection experience preferred
  • Professional Engineer preferred
  • Ability to be a lead responsible engineer for a project involving multi-discipline work
  • Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs at client sites
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite including, but not limited to, Word and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams

When salary range is listed it reflects typical compensation for this role based on level and location. Actual pay depends on experience, skills, and education.
