Position Summary:



Yeshiva University announces its proposed new DDS program and is hiring new faculty and staff to support the school. The curriculum will integrate Digital Dentistry techniques to be taught by today's dental thought leaders and master clinicians. The school plans to provide a unique 36-month dental education program through an innovative "Block" style curriculum, which will ensure in-depth learning and understanding. The Director of Digital Dentistry will lead the development, implementation, and integration of digital technologies into clinical and educational programs. This role is responsible for advancing the dental school's capabilities in digital workflows that are effectively incorporated into the didactic and clinical environment, ensuring students and faculty are proficient in emerging technologies that enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Education, the Director will collaborate with academic leadership, clinical staff, and external partners to position the school as a leader in digital dentistry.



Position Responsibilities:




  • Digital Integration and Implementation: Oversee the adoption and integration of digital dentistry technologies, including CAD/CAM systems, 3D printing, digital imaging, and virtual treatment planning.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a digital dentistry curriculum that aligns with contemporary practices, providing students with hands-on experience in digital workflows.
  • Integrated Didactic and Clinical Instruction: Provide coordinated didactic and clinical instruction using mastery-based, evidence-driven teaching approaches that actively engage learners and integrate biomedical science principles into patient-centered prosthodontic and restorative care.
  • Faculty and Student Training: Provide training and support to faculty and students in the use of digital dentistry tools, ensuring proficiency and confidence in applying these technologies.
  • Technology Maintenance and Upgrades: Manage the maintenance, calibration, and upgrading of digital equipment, ensuring consistent functionality and alignment with industry advancements.
  • Research and Innovation: Promote and support research initiatives in digital dentistry, fostering innovation and the exploration of new applications in clinical practice.
  • Collaboration and Partnership Development: Build relationships with technology vendors, dental industry leaders, and academic institutions to enhance the school's digital capabilities and reputation.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure digital workflows and practices meet regulatory standards, promoting quality assurance and patient safety.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the allocation and management of digital dentistry resources, including equipment, software, and training materials.
  • Clinical and Educational Documentation: Ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation of patient care, learner performance, and instructional activities in accordance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.



Experience & Educational Background:




  • DDS/DMD or equivalent degree from a CODA-accredited institution, with advanced training or formal experience in digital dentistry.
  • Eligibility for dental licensure in New York State.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in digital dentistry technologies, including intraoral scanning, CAD/CAM systems, digital imaging, and 3D printing.
  • Experience integrating digital workflows into clinical practice and dental education settings.
  • Experience supporting or delivering curriculum, faculty training, or clinical instruction related to digital dentistry.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, clinical staff, operations, and technology partners to support digital dentistry initiatives.
  • Familiarity with CODA accreditation standards and clinical competency-based assessment models.

  • Leadership and Training Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and train faculty and students, fostering proficiency and innovation in digital dentistry.
  • Commitment to Innovation: Dedication to staying at the forefront of digital dentistry advancements and integrating new technologies into practice and education.
  • Educational Program Development: Experience in designing and implementing curricula that integrate digital tools and techniques into clinical training.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build partnerships and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to address challenges in technology adoption and implementation, finding innovative solutions to enhance digital workflows.
  • Commitment to Patient Care and Safety: Dedication to applying digital tools to improve patient outcomes, ensuring safety and quality in clinical applications.
