We have an excellent opportunity for an accomplished Plant Manager to join our team in Lawrenceville, GA. The Plant Manager will ensure smooth operation of the GA facility and meet monthly production targets for Cabinets, System enclosures and Front panels. This involves coordination of manufacturing activities for fabrication of parts inclusive of plating and painting processes, assembly of cabinets and other electromechanical system enclosures.

The Plant Manager will develop and implement activities in the production area to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives, prioritize production schedules based on need dates, manpower availability and material supply.

The Plant Manager will also plan and administer assembly procedures, make budgetary recommendations on equipment and direct/indirect labor, select, and develop personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the assembly function, develop schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas, and ensure safety policies and procedures are consistently communicated and followed. This role requires frequent interaction with various departments at multiple facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create KPIs and drive team to continuously improve
  • Deliver defect free fabricated parts
  • Utilize Leader Standard Work to create expectations and common goals
  • Utilize Tier Boards/Meetings to level load daily manufacturing goals
  • Responsible for smooth functioning of the fabrication and paint shop as well as assembly operations
  • Work closely with the planning function to arrive at realistic and achievable production schedules geared towards meeting customer commitment
  • Assign production resources to execute the detailed weekly and daily (work centers) plan
  • Responsible for development and implementation of activities in production area to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives
  • Monitor schedules and manpower productivity
  • Prioritize production schedules based on deadlines, manpower availability and material supply
  • Plan and administer assembly procedures for cabinet builds. Select and develop personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the assembly function.
  • Make budgetary recommendations on equipment and direct/indirect labor
  • Requires frequent interaction with various relevant departments
  • Ensure timely delivery of products and services to customers
  • Monitor and ensure targeted levels of Quality conformance
  • Monitor and ensure all other work related and safety procedures are followed
  • Monitor and ensure all employees maintain discipline consistent with Company policy
  • Responsible for managing all plant personnel and monitoring activities
  • Responsible for plant and facility maintenance, housekeeping for the building
  • Ensures that safety procedures and policies are consistently communicated and followed by all employees
  • Other duties as assigned



Qualities:

  • Strong communicator that is constantly collaborating with all departments
  • Receive assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet the objectives
  • Provide guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies
  • Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules
  • Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors and may interact with senior management
  • Manage through subordinate supervisors the coordination of activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of cost, methods and employees
  • In some areas the manager may be responsible for a functional area and may not have subordinate supervisors /employees
  • Requires interaction with customers during factory visits and teleconference meetings as scheduled
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in efficiency using Lean skills


  • Proven management and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing including machining, welding, Painting
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure ecosystem involving mixed model flow in a high mix low volume environment
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials for complex mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to estimate assembly timings
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Conversant with use of computers and the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of MS office (Word and Excel)
  • Natural ability in conflict management is an added plus



Education/Experience:

  • Graduate degree in business or a related field or minimum 15 years of experience involving metal fabrication and assembly of mechanical/ electromechanical products out of which 8-10 years are in a supervisory/managing capacity or an equivalent.
