Automated Solutions Sales Manager - Industrial Packaging


South Central Region


Location: Remote, based in greater Dallas Fort Worth or greater Kansas City

An agile, capable sales force is essential to driving profitable growth. We are seeking an Automated Solutions Sales Manager - Industrial Packaging for our Pregis Protective Products business unit. The geographical territory for this position includes TX, OK, TN, MS, AL, LA, NE, and MO. Travel is approximately 40%.

Position Summary



Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager - South Central, the Automated Solutions Sales Manager will establish a strong sales presence in the region and create a competitive advantage to existing competitors already established in the market. This person will be focused on customer retention, new business development, equipment utilization and supporting/developing Account Managers.



Key Measures



  • Revenue performance vs. established goal (AOP)
  • Key role in training and developing the Account Manager team
  • Support Equipment Utilization and Returns
  • Crown Jewel/MLA Retention and Expansion
  • Utilization of CRM system to enter new opportunities and customer visits.



Key Responsibilities




  • Establish sales development strategy to identify, qualify and sell to new customers in territory.
  • Utilize market data to establish potential and build a pipeline
  • Drive product management and account management teams to secure new systems business.
  • Motivate and influence indirect reports, including up to four account managers, to help develop their system selling skills, execute on KPIs, drive pipeline activity, close large opportunities, and onboard.
  • Retain top existing customer base in territory.
  • Prospect new business at existing or new customer accounts for full breadth of product offering.
  • Work with other Systems Managers to coordinate, sell, and expand multi-location accounts in own territory and beyond.
  • Develop effective presentations and deliver compelling sales models to prospective customers.
  • Initiate and quote new items.
  • Coordinate with the service team, operations, customer service, engineering, and new product development to deliver competitive and effective quotes.
  • Actively engage with regional business teams to establish overall business strategy for region.
  • Regularly analyze market position, profitability and competitive impact.
  • Track and report on new business or customers from identification to securing sales orders, product delivery and payment.
  • Manage all administrative duties within region efficiently and effectively, including accurate entry of sales pipeline in CRM system
  • Service assigned accounts, supporting A/R, determination of exception pricing, qualifying customers, managing T&E, etc.



Position Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant sales experience with protective packaging manufacturers.
  • Proven success selling value added automation solutions and equipment
  • Sales and marketing experience in protective packaging or other industrial product lines.
  • Experience managing customers (distributor and end user), broker, and vendor relationships. Specific industry experience preferred.
  • Handling bulky product samples and systems equipment.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% throughout The Southcentral region.
  • Resides in greater Dallas Fort Worth or greater Kansas City.
