Ready to turn your deep knowledge of buildings into a job that gets you out in the field, keeps you thinking, and actually makes a difference in your community? If you love solving puzzles, spotting details others miss, and exploring everything from highrises to cozy rowhomes, this might be your perfect next move. You'll be the on-the-ground expert ensuring homes across Baltimore meet safety, quality, and compliance standards. One day you might be checking electrical systems in a duplex; the next, you're evaluating elevators in a high-rise or confirming fire safety in a garden-style community. If it's residential, you'll see it. Your superpower? Understanding how buildings really work - from the foundation to the roof and everything in between. You're the kind of person who knows their way around: * Structural components (foundations, roofs, exterior walls) * Electrical systems (outlets, lighting, panels) * Plumbing and sanitary systems (fixtures, drainage, piping) * HVAC and mechanical systems (boilers, AC units, furnaces) * Fire protection and safety devices (smoke/CO detectors, sprinklers) * Interior finishes (flooring, doors, walls) * Site features (sidewalks, lighting, playgrounds) * Specialized systems (elevators, emergency generators, callforaid systems) * And you're comfortable inspecting everything from single-family homes to multifamily buildings and high-rises. Bonus Points If You Have: * Experience with HUD standards like HQS or NSPIRE * Familiarity with subsidized housing programs * Knowledge of the Landlord/Tenant Act * Awareness of local Baltimore agencies * Confidence working independently and managing your own schedule * Comfort using tablets, mobile apps, and digital documentation * Experience in a paperless office environment What the Job Looks Like Day-to-Day This is a field-forward role and you'll be out and about, walking properties, climbing stairs, navigating different environments, and working in all kinds of weather. You'll use your hands, your eyes, your tools, and your expertise to make sure homes are safe and up to standard. You should be comfortable: * Standing, walking, and sitting throughout the day * Using hand and finger dexterity * Lifting or carrying items (occasionally up to 50+ lbs) * Working independently and interacting with residents or property staff Additional Information As a federal contractor, Quadel complies with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
