Job Summary The Entry-Level Data Center Technician supports the installation, maintenance, and organization of structured cabling and equipment within critical data center environments. This role provides hands-on exposure to fiber and copper cabling, equipment installation, and infrastructure buildouts while adhering to safety and quality standards. The position is a direct hire opportunity with training and mentorship to support long-term career growth in the telecom and low-voltage industry. Job Responsibilities

Perform cable infrastructure installation, including copper and fiber rough-in work.

Manage cabling systems by dressing, labeling, and organizing cables.

Terminate copper and fiber cables according to specifications.

Rack, stack, and secure customer equipment.

Build out server racks and follow rack elevation plans.

Install fiber trays, ladder racks, cabinets, and customer equipment.

Complete infrastructure installations such as cable management systems, fiber trays, ladder racks, and power trays.

Receive materials and assemble hardware as required.

Support Outside Plant (OSP) installations by running fiber into the data center.

Read, interpret, and follow blueprints and installation documentation.

Communicate professionally with colleagues and leadership through written and verbal methods.

Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE, maintaining a clean jobsite, and adhering to OSHA standards.
Job Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalency.

Entry-level experience with structured cabling; commercial or data center cabling experience preferred.

0-2 years of experience in a data center or similar technical environment.

OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Ability to work on ladders and scissor lifts, in confined spaces, and on feet for the duration of the shift.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds as needed.

Proficiency using basic hand tools, including multi-bit screwdrivers, tape measures, snips, pliers (needle nose and channel locks), punch down tools, flashlights, and tool pouches.

Must have appropriate work boots (steel toe or composite toe) and gloves.
