Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Analyst I (Theatre Systems) ensures the quality, reliability, and performance of software systems used in theatre operations. This role develops and executes test activities to identify issues before release, documents and tracks defects, and collaborates with technology and business partners to support stable system performance and a consistent guest experience. The role also supports continuous improvement of testing processes, automation, documentation, and quality standards aligned with established quality frameworks.

This position is based in Leawood, KS and is not eligible for relocation.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test scripts, detailed test conditions, test results, and job aids.
  • Document functional requirements and interface specifications to support testing and validation activities.
  • Execute manual tests including regression testing, system integration testing, product testing, and validation testing for theatre system initiatives.
  • Support user acceptance testing and post-implementation activities to ensure successful system releases.
  • Validate test results and provide quality assurance signoff or rejection of technology changes based on defined standards.
  • Identify, document, track, and report defects, including frequency and severity of issues, to quality assurance leadership.
  • View applications, capture screenshots, review reports, and run basic database queries to support test validation.
  • Maintain and manage a physical quality assurance lab, including point-of-sale terminals, kiosks, peripherals, and supporting hardware.
  • Perform physical setup activities such as imaging computers, configuring software, setting up peripherals, supporting basic networking, and moving equipment weighing approximately twenty-five pounds.
  • Maintain lab hardware, network connectivity, and installed software to ensure testing readiness.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with technology teams, business partners, and vendor partners.
  • Follow quality metrics, standards, and testing best practices to support consistent and repeatable outcomes.
  • Manage multiple tasks concurrently while meeting project timelines and quality expectations.
  • Perform setup and handling of theatre systems testing equipment, routinely lifting 25+ pounds.

What we need from you:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst or similar role or field theatre manager experience.
  • Experience contributing to continuous improvement of testing processes, documentation, and quality standards.
  • Experience using defect tracking tools and processes.
  • Proficiency with productivity tools used for documentation, communication, and reporting, including spreadsheets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate data and identify logical conclusions.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to share testing plans, progress, and risks with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also performing tasks independently with minimal supervision.

What we also value (preferred):

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree an Information Technology or related field, relevant certification, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of systems development lifecycle methodologies, testing structures, and quality controls in software development.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining test cases, test documentation, and quality artifacts.
  • Experience testing point-of-sale systems and supporting physical test lab environments.
  • Experience with database management systems and broader data technologies used in application testing, ideally SmartBear Test Complete.
  • Basic experience running database queries to support testing and validation Proficiency with scripting languages such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with estimating testing effort and supporting delivery against project timelines and expectations.
  • Familiarity with version control systems and test management tools such as Git, Jira, or ALM.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with a focus on quality.

Minimum qualifications:
