Job Summary:


Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems and form of desired results. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Gathers business requirements and reviews, analyzes, and evaluates complex business systems and user needs. Researches current system processes in conjunction with business and IS team members.
  • Defines, documents, and negotiates system change requests. Prepares time and cost estimates for completing projects. Considers business implications of the systems changes and communicates to affected groups.
  • Performs analysis of complex business issues and provides recommendations for possible solutions. Create SQL queries, write reports, and uses systems to do analysis based on data and facts in order to provide recommendations. Create and maintain reporting through Informer Reporting for customer and management requests.
  • Ability to mentor internal customers in use of analytical tools, assist in the identification and development of data requirements, extrapolate data into information to drive process improvements.
  • Consults in developing new metrics and refining current metrics definitions. Audits data management processes to ensure accuracy and documents existing processes for standard reports and identifies opportunities for process improvements.

  • Acts as a team leader for projects with moderate budgets or of a short to intermediate duration. Leads meetings with project team to assess status and resolve issues as they come up. Reviews and tracks status of project and deliverables and provides project updates and ongoing cost analysis to IS and business line management. Conducts presentations regarding project status and current issues.


  • Works collaboratively with IS and business partners to resolve issues. May assist with system testing, migration or implementation of systems.


  • Works on Help Desk tickets and special projects as assigned. Set up and maintain users on the required platforms. Gather all pertinent information, research and test potential issues and work with the vendors on fixes for the required platforms.


  • All other duties as assigned



Requirements
Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business or Management or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in analysis support/development and process development
  • Proficiency in SQL, report writing, other data mining query tools and willingness to learn new tools and applications
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting system processes and relational databases
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to meet business requirements
  • 2-4 years' experience in operations or business environment very helpful
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to participate in after hours on-call support
  • Proficiency in MS Work, Excel and other business software applications
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues with innovative solutions
  • Ability to manage timelines and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions
  • Extremely detail oriented


Physical Requirements:


In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability to travel >50% in a vehicle sitting/driving for long periods of time.
