Job Description




As a Security Officer - Government Patrol Days in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing an approachable presence for those on site. You will conduct regular patrols, remain visible, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify any potential concerns.
  • Monitor and report any unusual or suspicious behavior, hazards, or conditions encountered during patrols within the government facility.
  • Communicate clearly with Allied Universal management, client representatives, and emergency personnel as needed.
  • Assist with access control procedures and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas as required by site policies.
  • Document incidents, observations, and daily activities in detailed reports according to Allied Universal and client requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • Limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or a rustic guard shack are preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
