For more information, visit our website at www.kearfott.com Position Description: The Supplier Quality Engineer will provide support to the Kearfott organization relative to the improvement of vendor-supplied material and components through Quality interface, technical expertise and support to Suppliers. Essential Functions * Understands and implements key aspects of Supplier Quality fundamentals to achieve best-in-class Quality, delivery and service. * Ensure supplied products meet all specifications, requirements and expectations. * Investigate, assign and support Supplier Root Cause and Corrective Action efforts. * Track Supplier Corrective Action responses and monitor their effectiveness. * Support in-house Corrective Action Reviews with Supplier-provided input. * Liaison between Suppliers, Purchasing, Engineering, Production and Contracts. * Lead and communicate Quality initiatives within the organization. * Use Continuous Improvement tools to support process enhancements and achieve company goals. * Enhance and improve departmental procedures and standard work. * Interact and provide technical oversight to hourly Receiving and In-Process Inspectors. Critical Competencies * Must be a highly motivated self-starter with a strong desire to succeed and pursue ongoing personal growth and professional developmental opportunities. * Must be able to demonstrate ability and willingness to own Quality performance metrics and promote a world class Quality culture. * Be able to proactively recognize opportunities and assess risk mitigations activities. * Must have strong analytical problem-solving skills. * Must have understanding of problem-solving methods and tools, i.e. DMAIC, RCCA, 8D, etc. * Highly effective team player with strong communication and influential skills. * Must have demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage and complete multiple projects with varied objectives. Required Experience * Bachelor's Degree, Engineering degree required, or equivalent education and experience. * Required minimum 2 years practical experience with Quality Assurance or Quality Control in a manufacturing environment; experience in Supplier Quality Engineering strongly preferred. * Required experience working directly with vendors or distributors to resolve Quality issues. * Required experience using Quality Tools such as FAI, PFMEA, Control Plans, FMEA, Gage R&R, Process Capability, Process Flow, SPC, GD&T, Poke Yoke, RCCA, etc.; Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred. * Familiarity with ISO9001, AS9100 and AS9102 requirements. * Must be US Citizen * Must be able to work on U.S. government programs and/or obtain security clearance.
