Job DescriptionThe Certified Welder/Fabricator performs skilled welding, fabrication, and assembly on ductile iron pipe, flanges, and components ranging from 3" to 48" in diameter. Work includes welding cast iron to cast iron and steel to cast iron using both stick (SMAW) and wire-fed (GMAW/FCAW) processes, along with cutting, grinding, drilling, and tapping operations. The role requires precision, self-inspection, and adherence to welding codes and company standards for safety, quality, and performance. Makes quality checks of own work. Performs other duties as directed. Keeps work area clean and neat. This position requires the employee to work a full-time schedule with some overtime as necessary. Physical Action: - Work in a physically demanding, loud industrial manufacturing environment - Frequent lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 40 pounds - Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and standing for long periods -Ability to lift and handle heavy materials using hoists and cranes -Must tolerate heat, dust, and noise typical of an industrial manufacturing environment Material, Facilities, and Location of Job: - Flange Department Tools and Equipment Used: - Welding units (stick, robotic), grinders, drills, tapping tools, saws, air testing equipment, bridge and jib cranes, fume collection systems, and hand tools QualificationsTeam members who will support our McWane Way Culture. Team members will work together to make a quality product. High school diploma or equivalent. Certified welder credentials (AWS, API, or equivalent) required. Two or more years of experience in welding, fabrication, or pipe assembly preferred. Prior experience welding ductile iron, cast iron, and steel components strongly preferred.
