Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Manager, Therapeutic Alliances. The Project Manager, Therapeutic Alliances (TA) provides operational and scientific project management support to the Therapeutic Alliances team within Technology Opportunities & Ventures (TOV). This position is responsible for executing and coordinating day-to-day project activities across TAs preclinical and translational research portfolio, ensuring deliverables, budgets, and timelines are met while maintaining clear communication among faculty, consultants, and external research organizations. This role will provide hands-on project execution, tracking, and coordination rather than strategic direction, supporting the Director of Therapeutic Alliances in advancing NYU Langone innovations toward commercialization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing, implementing and monitoring scientific workplans for active TA projects under the direction of the Director, Therapeutic Alliances.
- Coordinate day-to-day project management activities including tracking deliverables, timelines, budgets, and milestones; coordinate logistics with CROs, consultants, and investigators.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including workplans, data summaries, reports, in the TA knowledge management system.
- Review and process CRO invoices, verify deliverables, and ensure compliance with project budgets.
- Assist with preparing routine pipeline updates, dashboards, and summaries for internal meetings.
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for faculty investigators, consultants, and CROs to facilitate communication and resolve logistical or technical issues.
- Facilitate material and data transfers, NDA execution coordination, and sample tracking.
- Assist in gathering background data, literature, and feasibility analyses for new candidate projects.
- Support preparation of internal updates, dashboards, and progress reports summarizing project status, delays, and next steps.
- Support evaluation of new proposals through coordination of internal and external reviews and documentation.
- Help identify and document relevant technologies, CRO capabilities, and NYU core resources.
- Maintain an updated list of external partners, CRO performance, and cost structures.
- Provide input and administrative support on TA-related grant submissions and progress reports.
- Support evaluation of new candidate projects by coordinating data collection, literature review, and documentation for internal and external review.
- Assist in onboarding, scheduling, and monitoring the activities of TA interns in collaboration with the Director and TOV Business Development team.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and documentation of key outcomes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support TA operations and institutional priorities.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree required; preferred fields include business administration, operations management, or related area. 2-3 years of experience in research project management, operations, laboratory management within academia or industry, or equivalent. Strong organizational and multitasking skills; ability to manage complex information flows. Familiarity with translational or preclinical research processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Life Sciences strongly preferred. Familiarity with CRO management and budgeting processes. Understanding of intellectual property, research agreements, and data confidentiality practices. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
