Maintenance Mechanic

What this job involves:

As a Maintenance Mechanic at JLL, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the physical integrity and functionality of commercial buildings, ensuring optimal environments for our clients and their occupants. This position involves performing comprehensive maintenance, repair, and restoration tasks across building systems and infrastructure. You'll work as part of a collaborative team that embraces innovative ways of working while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence. Your expertise will contribute to JLL's mission of shaping a brighter way for our clients by delivering exceptional facility management services. The role requires a proactive approach to building maintenance, emergency response capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and functional work environments that support everyone's wellbeing.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform repair, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various building structural components and systems
  • Maintain and repair locks, locking mechanisms, door closers, furniture, and access control systems
  • Conduct plumbing maintenance including toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, sinks, drains, water heaters, and sump pumps
  • Complete painting projects on interior and exterior building surfaces, including surface preparation and priming
  • Handle general interior maintenance tasks such as hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, and repairing office furniture systems
  • Respond effectively to building emergencies and perform assigned facility inspections to ensure satisfactory client occupancy
  • Clean HVAC coils, change filters and belts, and maintain building documentation including fire safety systems

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to safely perform overhead work while standing on ladders up to 28 feet
  • Physical ability to regularly walk, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, lift, push, and pull as required for maintenance tasks
  • Commitment to following all safety procedures and maintaining clean, organized work areas

Preferred qualifications:

  • Completion of applicable technical training program or vocational certification
  • Experience with HVAC systems maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials storage, usage, and disposal procedures
  • Previous experience in commercial building maintenance or facilities management
  • Familiarity with building management systems and documentation processes
