Job Description

Selected candidates for entry level production helper, under direct supervision, will be expected to perform a variety of simple blasting techniques and methods using various types of blasting media such as aluminum oxide, glass bead, and plastic media, all in the efforts to effectively clean and prepare surfaces for future processes. Individuals will be cross qualified in relevant support functions such as racking, turning and sanding operations as well as equipment maintenance and paint mixing operations. Candidates must have the ability and desire to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced production environment, be resourceful and innovative along with presenting a strong business ethic and compliance to leadership and company policies, and a good communicator with the ability to represent the company in a positive manner. Candidates must be self-disciplined and self-motivated individuals with strong accountability (attention to details) skills. Insuring and validating part cleanliness, damage free surfaces, and part configurations are some of the essential functions a level one blast operator will be required to perform. Other responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as adherence to organization safety rules and regulations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and assimilating work instructions specific to paint type, dimensional tolerance and thickness considerations.
  • Loading, adjustment and light maintenance of conventional HVLP coating equipment in remote pressure, siphon and gravity fed variants.
  • Reviewing and assimilating work instructions relating to cleaning, masking, and abrasive blasting operations.
  • Perform receiving inspections (before processing) as needed and immediately report any damage or discrepancy.
  • Abrasive blasting production parts and hardware using Aluminum Oxide, Plastic Media, and Glass Beads.
  • Gathers supplies such as racks, tooling, baskets, carts (etc).
  • Oiling and/or packaging of parts for protection.
  • Cleaning of production parts which include degreasing or manual solvent cleaning.
  • Routine blast cabinet/machine maintenance.
  • Work closely with area leadership to complete work and prioritize tasks.
  • Understanding and maintaining best safety practices in accordance with prescribed directives.
  • Will be exposed to chemicals/solvents, occasional fumes, and moderate noise level.
  • Will at times require heavy lifting.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent hand/eye coordination, practical skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding and use of English in both written and verbal formats.
  • Basic practical computer skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent vision whether or not corrected including normal color vision.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work alone or as a member of a team, good cooperative skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast paced and ever-changing environment with multiple priorities.

  • Monday to Friday from 6am to 2:30pm

Level of Education:

  • General Standard education including the ability to read and write in English.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $20 to $20 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
