Data.FI Eswatini Communications Officer

Palladium is currently seeking a Communications Officer in Eswatini to support the implementation of the Data for Implementation (Data.FI) Project. The Project Communications Officer will lead the development and implementation of communication strategies to ensure visibility of the Ministry of Health's Strategic Information Department (SID) and the Data.FI project. This role will focus on promoting awareness, sharing project achievements, and supporting stakeholder engagement through effective communication channels.

Data.FI supports host country governments to improve existing health information systems (HIS) and conduct in-depth analysis of epidemiological and program data to inform responses to manage gaps in programming and sustain impact by supporting the transition of local partners. In Eswatini, Data.FI comprises of a team of technical advisors with expertise in digital health and quality management systems to help the government through DoS better monitor and mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 and broader health priorities, including HIV/AIDS, TB, and other critical programmatic areas, ensuring data-driven solutions for improved health outcomes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

*Develop and implement a communications plan to highlight the work of MoH SID and Data.FI.
*Ensure compliance with branding guidelines for all project-related materials.
*Create high-quality content for newsletters, social media, press releases, and reports.
*Document success stories, case studies, and project milestones for dissemination.
*Manage relationships with media outlets and coordinate coverage of project activities.
*Organize press briefings, interviews, and media events as needed.
*Monitor engagement metrics and optimize digital outreach strategies.
*Support communication with government, donors, and implementing partners.
*Prepare presentations and talking points for meetings and conferences.
*Ensure proper documentation and achieving communication materials.
*Contribute quarterly and annual reports with communication highlights.

Required Qualifications:

*Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
*Minimum 2-5 years of experience in communications, preferably in health or development projects.
*Strong writing, editing skills
*Experience with social media management and digital marketing tools.
*Familiarity with donor-funded project requirements and branding guidelines.
*Strong English (written and oral) and storytelling skills.
*High level of computer literacy.
*Local candidates only-no relocation expenses provided.
*Must be legally authorized to work in Eswatini.

Reporting and Supervision:

*Reports to the Data.FI Country Representative, Eswatini.
*Provision of regular updates.
*Other reporting as requested.

Relationships:

*This role will not have supervisory responsibilities.

Levels of Authority:

*Under the oversight of the Country Representative, perform preliminary processing for assigned activities.
*Assist in responsibility for creating and maintaining procurement project files and documentation.

Contract Duration:

Until March 2026 with the potential for extension contingent on funding.
