We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Client Account Director (CAD) to drive growth in the water and wastewater markets across the United States. This role is a key part of Weston's growth strategy to expand our portfolio of private and public sector clients. Existing relationships in high growth water and wastewater industries or related experience required . This position will be responsible for strategic planning, client outreach, and branding to capture market share. This role demands a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of environmental regulations, water and wastewater trends, along with excellent communication, business development, team leadership, and project management skills.
Beyond driving market growth, the CAD will play a pivotal role in positioning Weston as a leader in next-generation water solutions. This includes shaping and advancing research and development initiatives that focus on emerging technologies for water treatment, water reuse, and resource recovery. The CAD will have opportunities to collaborate with industry innovators, academic institutions, and regulatory agencies to validate and deploy cutting-edge solutions for complex water challenges such as PFAS remediation, nutrient recovery, and sustainable water reuse. In addition, the CAD will influence strategic investments in innovation, ensuring that Weston maintains its position at the forefront of advancements in the water and wastewater sector.
The CAD is expected to be able to assemble teams that can deliver complete water and wastewater services including planning & permitting, cost estimation, engineering design, construction services, start-up and operations/maintenance, application of digital solutions and multi-media compliance programs.
Location: Flexible but preferred locations include Mid-Atlantic Region, New England Region, and Southeast Region.
Expected Outcomes:
Provide overall leadership in driving growth and building a strong brand in the water and wastewater sector including developing and maintaining long-term client relationships, building sales pipeline, partnering with operations to ensure high-quality project delivery, and to grow the capacity of the required teams to deliver exceptional value to our clients in a variety of environmental and infrastructure technical areas.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the water and wastewater sectors.
  • Leverage existing capabilities, contracts, and client relationships to develop and execute business strategies that drive sales in the water/wastewater sector.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with private sector clients across various industries.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and project updates.
  • Collaborate within the company working with our engineering team, technical subject matter experts, and other professionals.
  • Excellent technical skills with demonstrated clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Lead the sales lifecycle including prospecting, positioning, capture planning, proposal development, interviews, and closing.
  • Active in appropriate associations, conferences, networking events to expand company's presence.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes, funding opportunities, and competitive landscape.
  • Work closely with the Sales Director to improve sales efficiencies and capture effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and leadership support to existing and new CAMs/CADs to identify and win water and wastewater opportunities within their client portfolio.
Qualifications :
  • Must be highly motivated, a self-starter, and drive results.
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and strategic thinking.
  • Strong track record of building/expanding teams, clientele, and technical capabilities.
  • Lead internal and external messaging.
  • Assist in staff recruiting and mentoring.
  • Maintain flexibility in a continuously changing and fast-paced environment.
  • Translate highly technical information so that non-technical decision makers can understand risks and opportunities related to infrastructure projects and Weston's offerings.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in engineering from an accredited university.
  • 20 or more years of experience in the water and wastewater engineering field including water treatment and distribution and wastewater collection and treatment with more emphasis on industrial wastewater.
  • 10 or more years of business development experience in this subject area.
  • Broad understanding of current and emerging environmental, regulatory, water, and wastewater needs of those clients.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations and demonstrated ability to interface and negotiate with regulatory agencies.
  • Highly collaborative and willing and able to work with many stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employee-owners, clients, and community leaders.
  • This position will require travel for meetings with prospective and current clients, conference attendance, and other related business development activities.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $138,273-$183,270-$228,370
