Chaplain - Fulltime - Afternoons (12p - 8:30p) - Detroit

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provide a collaborative and inclusive approach to spiritual care by ministering holistically to the needs of patients, their families, clinical/medical staff and administration. Reports to the Manager of Spiritual Care.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provides spiritual care and counsel for emotional and spiritual distress to patients, their families, associates and others with attention to diverse spiritual orientations and cultures.

* Provides care to the local hospital and community through leading rituals, blessings and liturgies, and arranging for or performing sacraments.

* Participates and collaborates with other clinicians in the delivery of holistic patient care to patients and families

* Maintains relationships with team members through regular visitations and communication to provide spiritual support as needed

* Builds and maintains relationships with religious leaders in the community to provide necessary support outside the realm of the in-house spiritual care team

LICENSURE/ CERTIFICATION/ REGISTRATION:

* Board Certification from APC, SCA, NACC, CASC, or the NAJC at time of hire or board certified eligible
